So I finally got this project figured out and working well I had a spare alternator that I converted to a on board welder I used a cs144 and in the long run I went with a external heavy duty rectifier from the factory the cs 144 came with a Avalanche style rectifier designed to burn up at 32 volts so after I figued that out I went with a non Avalanche 420 amp rectifier and after removing the voltage regulator and full fielding the alternator I have a welder on the test run it welds with 1/8" rod no problem at about 85 volts just above idle on the engine and I still need to set up a outlet with a voltage gauge so I can run my blender or grinder on the trail and I will be ready for the season
