they turned out awsome!  i didn't have room for anything, cause of the super narrow frame.  i studied a bunch of mufflers a few years back for small air crafts.  then i helped build a street car that competed in the dynomax power to the wheels shootout and i got to see all there designs.  the shape of these mufflers have reason,  the 2 notches are there so that they clear the body mounts on the frame.  the stealth body shape was for clearance.  basically the main principle of a muffler is to slow down exhaust gases.  the more times you make it bounce inside the muffler, the quieter it will become.  the secret ingredient is 2 stoke muffler packing and perforated sheet metal.  use this and it will work out.  i have dual 3'' coming in off the collector and twin 2'' tips out the back.  i did this so that it wouldn't be so low pitched and drowney.  and it worked out amazingly.  here's a pic of the inside.  you need to in vision whats going to happen inside, how its going to flow.  keep in mind of what displacment yur motor is and run the proper size exhaust.  don't go to big for a smaller motor. match it up proper or you'll be choked

Good info, after mostly into mine I found one article describing what you said above but I didn't want to spend the time trying something without having any idea if it would work.  That and I couldn't find anyone who ever built their own.

Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good.

If it moves, salute it; if it doesn't move, pick it up; and if you can't pick it up, paint it.

Sarcasm..just one of the services I offer.

yeah the wild bills campground is small and peaceful, and the gravel road leading into it takes you right to the camp 5 area with alot of the well known trails.

props for driving it 8 hours to the trail!

thank you.  I've been checking out pics on this forum regarding yur trails and terrian.  WOW!  too say the least.  I had no idea that it was much of an off road meca there.  Tons of crazy Jeeps, Yotas  and buggies everywhere.  I'm hoping that i can trailer out this year.  I knew it was good at the black hills, but i didn't think it had that much of a hardcore following, i guess i've been out of the loop for a while.  like i mentioned earlier, i had been living on the west coast, just came back a couple of years ago.  but i'm always away from home for work.  looking forward to meeting some of you people face to face, tire to rock.
