PURGATORY LOGISTICS
07/26/10 at 14:03:42

This thread is designed to outline the logistics of who/what/when/where/why for the "30 HOURS OF PURGATORY RUN"

I've saved a google-earth image, and marked the "how to get there" based on my memory.

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

The plan is this:
DEPART THE MEET SPOT @ 9:30 AM SATURDAY 7/31/2010
This means you and your co-pilot, in your rig, engine running, tires aired down, lockers engaged, sunscreen applied, fuel tanks full, hubs locked in, etc.....
Leave at 9:30 AM.

We have a monumental amount of wheel'n ahead of us.  Be there on-time, ready to roll. Smiley

Myself and ToyotaJay will be in Hot Springs Friday night.  We'll be at the Holidy Inn Express.

ScoutStarr and RockRod will also be @ the Holiday Inn Express Friday night.

Our plan is to leave Rapid Friday night after work.
Get to Hot Springs and check into the hotel.
Grab a relaxed dinner and a few beerskies.
Get a good night's sleep.
Wake up Saturday morning around 8:00
Grab some breakfast and hit the road.

It's about 45 minutes from downtown Hot Springs, to the "meet location".

looks right ryan, good memory.  Although I though people where meeting at the intersection of 18 and 89 then heading up to the parking area?

That was "then".

This is "now":  Be ready to depart the "meet spot" @ 9:30 AM

The above map makes it 100% easy to drive directly to the meet spot.  I'm sure people would rather have it that way.

CAMPING:  At the meet spot is "do-able", but there is no water, electricity, or camp-fires.

I thought about them but came to the same conclusion.

If we were doing this in the winter for 48hours I would strongly consider them but for this I think light snack stuff will work.

jerky, chocolate, snack bars, hard salami, hard cheese, and fluids.

A grill Tim, when do you think were going to have time to grill anything?!?!?    Wink
